With the Quail Hollow Golf Championship in town, the city is filled with excitement. It seems like everyone is headed out to the golf course at some point over the weekend, with hopes of catching a glimpse of Tiger Woods. Although when I think about golf; I immediately think arglye and madras. I think popped collars, croakies, boat shoes and seersucker. Basically preppy to the max! Here are some looks that I'd love to see out on the golf course from Lilly Pullitzer and Ralph Lauren. Ready to hot the golf course!!

Aloha Orchid
Everyone knows the smell of an Anthropolgie store. The amazing smell coming from the candles they sell inside. The one that we all want our rooms and homes to smell like.
This weekend I wandered into Anthropolgie to look at all their goodies. From adorable crafty dresses, beaded necklaces, and all of their home decor that I just die for. But what I finally decided on, was a new candle. It's called "Aloha Orchid" and it's by Aspen Bay Candles. Nothing beats coming home after a long day of work and lighting a candle and just relaxing. And it doesn't hurt that it smells fabulous and slowly my room is turning into a mini Anthropologie.
Happy Tuesday! xoxo

Romping Around!
I finally wore my new floral romper out on Saturday; and needless to say it was the brunt of many jokes with all of our guy friends! I guess I can't blame them because by the end of the night I was calling it a "onesie" (a baby's one piece) and joking about it too. But regardless- I'm loving the romper and how easy it is to wear. I think that if I hadn't told them that it was a romper, that no one would have ever known. I've learned my lesson about that!
and a few solid rompers from Marc Jacobs, Roxy, Halston Heritage, and Twenty8Twelve

Girlfriends!
"Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget"
The past few days have been filled with the joys of having fabulous friends! It's even more exciting because some of them I hadn't seen in awhile and came from other cities and states to visit. I couldn't have asked for a better way to start my week.
On Thursday, I got to see my old college roomate who came in town for a wedding. We stayed up way way too late enjoying catching up over a few glasses of wine! {and also a surprise conference call to our 3rd roomie in DC} Then yesterday I met a girlfriend for lunch {at our old "work" lunch spot} and then had dinner with my girlfriends from home; including one that was in town from NYC.
Although, it might seem like I get enough "girl time" since I basically work with all women...but I couldn't have been happier to share some quality time with my girls. As I get older, I am realizing more and more that good friends are hard to find and with changing lives and changing cities, it can also be hard to keep in touch. I feel so thankful to have such amazing friends!

Seersucker Success!
So the winning outfit for this Saturday's Steeplechase was a blue and white seersucker dress! Nothing too special- but perfect for the warm weather and the occasion.
The races were so much fun to watch and of course I also really enjoyed checking out everyone's Steeplechase attire. From men in madras pants, bowties and seersucker themselves, to women in big hats, dresses and lots of pearls. A great day all around! Already ready for next years festivities.
Here are some pics from the day. Enjoy!

prints galore!
This season is full of fabulous prints! From printed dresses, skirts, shorts, rompers, flowing tops and more. On every website and in every store, I'm falling in love with florals and Spring prints more and more. Prints definitey help liven up any closet and with a week like this week...I could use some "livening up". It's been a busy and hectic one!

Tie it up with a bow!
I recently bought a skirt from Cynthia Steffe that has a big tie front bow. I've probably worn it almost once a week since I bought it and I've been on the hunt for another one (or something similar) ever since. Everyone at work is probably starting to think I don't own anything else =)Here are a few that I'm loving!
1- Grey Skirt: French Connection
2- Black and Cream: Mulberry
3- Purple: Mulberry
4- Navy: Karen Millen

beach bag ready
What's in your beach bag?
Yesterday was the first day (of many more to come) spent out by our pool. The weather was perfect and my girlfriend and I headed outside in hopes of getting a little sun on our pale winter skin...which I think might have worked. I pulled my beach bag from the back of the linen closet and immediately started throwing in all of the "pool necessities". Since today was only my first time out in the sun this year; I wasn't as ready with all of my favorites but I made a mental list of everything I'd need to fill my beach bag this summer. Here are the things that help make up a great beach bag!
1- beach bag: the bigger the better
2- Evian spritzer: maybe it's unnecessary, so you could always save money and put water in a spray bottle
3-Havianna flip flops: these truly are the best pool/beach flip flops and super comfortable
4-Philosophy: Hope in a Jar with SPF 20: use this on your face to moisturize and keep away those wrinkles
5-MD Skincare SPF 25 Lip Balm:sunburned lips are the worst!!
6-Rayban Wayfarer's: so cute and you won't get the big sunglass tan that comes with wearing those huge sunglasses
7-Waterbottle: stay hydrated with some ice water or a good lemonade
8-Neutrogena Spray Sunscreen: you don't even have to really rub it in; which I love. Just spray and go
9-Book: bring a good read and relax in the sun. Right now I'm reading "Eat, Pray, love"
10-towel: Like the beach bag; the bigger the better
Enjoy!!

and they're off!
Last year was my first trip to the Kentucky Derby! Yes, THE Kentucky Derby- the horse race of all horse races. And for me, it was the fashion show of all fashion shows (remember...I live in the South). My girlfriends and I spent months planning out our outfits very strategically. We bought new dresses; and I even designed two dresses that my Mom actually made for me. We went on countless shopping trips on a hunt for the perfect "derby hat". It's not the easiest thing to find and especially when you need it to coordinate with your outfit; for two separate events.
This was a huge production and I loved every minute of it! And then when we arrived at Churchill Downs, we spent our time admiring (and sometimes questioning) everyone's outfits. Oh and then a little bit of our time admiring the horses too of course =)
So next weekend at this time, we will be off to another horse race event called Steeplechase. I couldn't be more excited and I knew that I was back in the same boat as last year when I received the email from my girlfriend asking "now let's talk outfits". My mind is just running through all of the many options for the big event and I couldn't be more excited! I'll keep you updated; but as for now I'm dreaming of these fabulous girls and their horses. So realistic...I know.

Navy Treats!
I treated myself to some fabulous navy treats last night! I told myself I wasn't going to buy anything; but this is sometimes what happens when I try to control my spending...oops. Anyways, I will say that the amount of navy in my closet is fairly minimal and I just couldn't resist! So I bought this adorable shoulder detail dress by Miss Me and then a nautical white and navy stipe boatneck top from Eight Sixty.
Happy Friday! XOXO

Love for straw!!
Straw, Straw, and more straw! The perfect compliment for a cute clutch, a designer beach bag or just a nice handbag. Not only does the straw look remind me of packing up my beach towel and heading out in the sun, but now you can find straw in a variety of styles. Here are some straw faves!
Clockwise:
1- Chanel
2- Cole Haan
3-Elaine Turner
4-Jimmy Choo
5-D&G Dolce and Gabbana

Oh how I love my Jack Rogers sandals! Now that the weather has officially turned and today is supposed to hit a record high of 90 degrees...I am so happy to have on my favorite sandals- and even more excited that they're acceptable for work. It would be even better if these sandals were walking through the sand and onto the beach, but for now they will sit pretty underneath my desk =)
Happy Tuesday! XOXO
