man's best friend

Me and the family dogs spent the weekend together!
They can definitely be a handfull, and it doesn't help that one of them is only about 6 months old. But I couldn't help but feel so happy that I had them around. They are so carefree with not a worry in the world.

So I spent my Saturday night just me and the boys! and loveddd it...

Stripe Hype!

I love stripes!!
I know that stripes and prints are definitely a personal preference; but I love my stripes! They just seem so nautical and fresh. Whether it be in a cute boyfriend blazer, a cute heel, or a little romper playsuit. Here are some stripe hype!
**side note...just checked my friends post today, called "so neccesary" and we'll, we think alike. Check out her stripes!

Bucket List 1.

1. Ride an elephant in it's natural habitat
(i.e. through a jungle/river...not at a zoo or some silly circus)

Ever since I can remember, I've always wanted to ride an elephant! It's something that maybe I saw in a movie as a small child (very likely) and have dreamed of ever since. It's something that I imagine a true Indian princess (dot not feather) would do, and it is something that I have at the top of my "bucket list".

this is what I imagine it will look like when I'm riding my elephant through the jungle!
It seems so exoctic and a once in a lifetime experience! I can't wait to go!!

true elephant love!!

i'm sorry....what?

As I sat and watched the Olympic games last night; the announcer comes on to introduce "Women's Bobsledding". I'm sorry....what?? No. No. No.

In my mind there is no such a sport and if there is, then why can I not distinguish between the women and the men's bobsledding teams? I decided that IF (for some unknown reason) a woman decides to bobsled (and take it to the level of the olympics) then they must change the name to "Barbiesledding". I mean how could women partake in a sport that starts with the name "Bob"? I can't fathom it. Here are the next Winter Olympians for the USA!!

Team Barbie-sledders!

I image that "Barbiesledding" could be really fun and fashion forward! The girls in their cute hot pink "barbie sled" and wearing cute pink outfits with skirts and ruffles. and of course a pink helmet (if you musttt for safety reasons I guess), and the sled....well that's a whole other story. Here's what I'm thinking. They would definitely need something with speakers and seat warmers. (it's cold out there on Whistler Mountain)

The "Barbie Sledding" outfits don't have to be so manly looking. Something like this would be perfectly fabulous for the slopes! Plus she needs her pink glasses because ski goggles are not nearly as cute and will mess up her hair for the award ceremony. After all; the paparazzi might be there.

Now all we need to add, is Ken in the passenger seat. Or whatever you call the back seat in a "barbie sled". Love it.

Happy Barbie-Sledding! Watch out for the 2014 Winter Olympics!

my new harems!

“In difficult times fashion is always outrageous.” Elsa Schiaparelli

So the weekend started a little early for me on Friday and I decided to do some feel good shopping. That's the best kind to do, because you feel less guilty about buying things and pampering yourself with whatever you might want. The immediate gratification is priceless. Well for some reason, my gratification was a pair of harem pants. I know....the pants that look like droopy drawers or your boyfriends sweatpants. But with my desire for something "new"- this was the perfect start for me. When it comes to doing something new, I feel like fashion is the easiest and quickest way to get that satisfaction. The mall is a lot closer than a trip to a tropical island at the moment.

Anyways, I'm not gonna lie- I love them! And all I have to say is, if Sienna Miller wears them, then I'm sold (even if I am a little late on the trend).
I know that I look nothing like my girl Sienna, but worth a try!

more harem loves!

bookshelf confessions

I bought a bookshelf for myself about 3 years ago in hopes of having more space for all of my "stuff". I quickly filled it's shelves with:
- books (mostly unread plus my Paris Hilton "Heiress Diary", I'll admit)
-picture frames (filled with pictures of my friends and family and of course my black and white Paris pictures- the city, not Paris Hilton I promise)
-photo albums and a photo box (yes...more pictures and these include pictures from high school which should probably be burned)
-a scrapbook (I actually made a scrapbook!)
-my iPod speakers (for all my new tunes)
-my little jewelry box (little, but filled with memories from every piece of jewelry)
basically, most of things I love are represented in some way. And I started thinking about it, and a person's bookshelf can really tell alot about someone and the thing and people they love!

here are some fun and unique bookshelves

happiness outdoors

The weather this weekend has been gorgeous; which means spending lots of time outdoors! Ecspecially since it's not snowing or raining for the first time in a few weekends now. The warm weather takes most of the city it seems, to the sidewalks and local parks- my favorite being Freedom Park.

I love all the bikers, runners, dog walkers, family picnics and sun bathers that come with warm weather. I could spend hours here; just taking it all in.....

Freedom Park on our first warm weather weekend of the year!
